Construction supply sales in Argentina dropped 27.2% in 2024 and fell 6.6% year-on-year in December. Sales of materials such as bricks, ceramics, Portland cement or lime fell 1.25% compared to November. Construction firms are blaming the situation on the government’s decision to freeze financing for public works. President Javier Milei is betting on private infrastructure investments, but the approach is seen as unfeasible due to lack of access to financing.
