Chevron could invest in a new multibillion-dollar pipeline project aimed at boosting oil exports from its assets in Argentina, CEO Mike Wirth said. The initiative would allow the US company to transport crude from the Vaca Muerta formation in western Argentina to an export terminal on the Atlantic coast. It is understood Chevron is negotiating with Shell and local state-owned company YPF with a view to forming a consortium for the proposed development, which has an estimated cost of US$3bn.
