Canadian lithium company Lithium Americas said that it reached a deal to sell a 15% stake in its Pastos Grandes project in Argentina to a subsidiary of China’s Ganfeng Lithium for $70 million. The deal will bring Ganfeng on as a partner in the project, which Lithium Americas acquired in 2022 from Canada-based Millennial Lithium. Pastos Grandes, located in the province of Salta in northwestern Argentina, is an advanced stage lithium brine project in the same basin as the Sal de la Puna project and adjacent to Ganfeng’s Pozuelos-Pastos Grandes project.
