
Argentina is pushing forward a nuclear power plan that includes adding four 300MW ACR-300 reactor modules to the country’s energy matrix to bolster generation. The strategy would also involve restarting uranium mining and enrichment in an effort to reduce dependence on imports and secure long-term supply of a mineral that is gaining importance globally. The country’s mining portfolio includes around 18 uranium-focused projects, backed by companies and investors responding to a tightening market amid growing geopolitical tensions, particularly between Israel and Iran. With the support of France, the strategy includes restarting uranium extraction.
