Argentina shifts stance on Ukraine in United Nations vote

Reacting to US President Donald Trump’s shift away from Kyiv to Moscow, President Javier Milei’s government changes its foreign policy position on ally Ukraine and refuses to back UN resolution condemning Russia. Argentina’s Foreign Ministry was forced to change its foreign policy course after US President Donald Trump called the Ukrainian leader a “dictator” and strengthened its ties with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The move came despite the longstanding ties between Milei and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
