Argentina’s currency market is experiencing a remarkable shift. The gap between the official and unofficial dollar rates has narrowed to just 1.45%, a level not seen in decades. This narrowing spread, known as the “brecha,” has plummeted from nearly 200% in late 2023. Such parity was last observed during the 1990s Convertibility Plan, which ended in the 2001 economic crisis.
