Buenos Aires subway operator Sbase is close to awarding two contracts worth a total of US$297mn, after the assessment committees issued pre-award resolutions for both. The first tender, which was pre-awarded to CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles and involves US$263mn, entails the acquisition of 29 new train formations equivalent to 174 train cars. The second bidding process, which had a price tag of US$33.8mn, was pre-awarded to Megacar. It involves the purchase of 20 electric vehicles for a planned electromobility corridor in the city’s historic center.
