Ferroglobe facing meltdown in Argentina over power prices, costs

Silicon and metal alloys producer Ferroglobe has made the decision to suspend its operations in Argentina’s Mendoza province starting, with no set date for reactivation as the firm cites reduced demand and high costs in the country. According to Ferroglobe Argentina, the decision results from “excess inventory of finished products and a drop in sales at both national and international levels.”
