Despite a drop in the value of Argentine lithium exports last year, volumes increased and 38 projects are advancing. Argentina currently has 38 advanced lithium projects in various stages of development, totaling US$8.1bn. Mining has become a key driver of the country’s economic recovery and has been designated a strategic sector under the Rigi investment incentive regime, which applies to projects exceeding US$200mn, The price fell despite strong demand from battery manufacturers in the electric vehicle industry, due to a global supply increase and uncertainty surrounding US trade policies. However, analysts predict a price rebound in the coming months, driven by rising demand for clean technologies and global decarbonization efforts.
